Education

Zata Omm Dance Projects provides classes, workshops, seminars and dance oriented programs. We offer opportunities for students to study and learn various contemporary dance techniques.

In addition to providing dance performances in public spaces, community centres, educational facilities etc. We also provide customized workshops.

Contemporary dance pieces will be created in liaison with groups at such educational, cultural or care facilities with the focus being on student participation. In this capacity Zata Omm Dance Projects will act as a facilitator and educator in the personal, social and artistic development of these centers.

Zata Omm provides ballet and contemporary classes for other touring dance companies performing in Canada. We provided classes for Matthew Bourne's New Adventures 'Edward Scissorhands' at Hummingbird Centre. Our teachers include Cindy Macedo (Ballet), Johanna Bergfeldt (Contemporary) and William Yong (Contemporary).

William Yong has taught choreographic workshops and gave master technique classes for World Stage, Series 808, York University, McMaster University, National Ballet of Canada's In Studio, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Lester B. Pearson School for the Arts, GMD, 509 Collective, Theatre Rusticle Gym, Toronto Dance Theatre, Little Pear Garden Collective, Emerging Artists Intensive, Matthew Bourne's AMP and New Adventures.

William Yong has also been invited to be the guest speaker at Staging Sustainability International Conference, DigiFest's Future 15 Talk, Canadian Dance Assembly's 'Technological Innovation' workshop, Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, Dancers' Transition Resource Centre's 'On The Move' conferences, Dance Umbrella of Ontario, Theatre School of Ryerson University, Lululemon Athletica's Career Talk and Toronto District School Board Seminar.

Zata Omm and William Yong have created many commissioned dance works for educational institutes.
